Candoni gets new police chief

Police Major Nelson Amsiwen is the new police chief of Candoni town in Negros Occidental.

Amsiwen, who was installed yesterday as the new Candoni police chief, by PCol. Rainier de Chavez, provincial police director of Negros Occidental, has replaced PMaj. Ruel Culanag.

The turnover rites was also witnessed by Mayor Ray Ruiz. Culanag is retiring from the police service.

Culanag, who served as Candoni police chief for one year and eight months, thanked Mayor Ruiz for his support to the law enforcement operations of the town police.

Mayor Ruiz thanked Culanag for his service to the people of Candoni, as he also expressed his appreciation to the efforts of the town police and to the service extended to the people of Candonie.

De Chavez commended Culanag for a job well done in Candoni. He also challenged Amsiwen to maintain and move forward the legacy left behind by his predecessor.

Ruiz also assured his support to Amsiwen. | GB
