BM Alonso named Negros Occ. vice gubernatorial bet

Abang Lingkod party-list Rep. Stephen Joseph Paduano said on Wednesday, May 1, that political leaders in Negros Occidental   have already   agreed to endorse Fourth District  Board Member Jose Benito Alonso as the common vice gubernatorial candidate in the May 2025 midterm elections.

The development came as Paduano also expressed his full support to the planned reelection bid of Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson for a third and final term.

Paduano said that   he was given the privilege  to endorse   Alonso, a member of  United Negros Alliance (UnegA),   as the runningmate of Lacson, the leader of Love Negros,  during the last   Christmas party of the  Philippine Councilor’s League- Negros Occidental, which was also  attended by some mayors and  Third District Rep. Jose Francisco Benitez.

As agreed by the coalition of the UNegA and Love Negros,  the vice gubernatorial post is reserved for the candidate from UNegA.

Vice Gov. Jeffrey Ferrer earlier announced his intention to run   anew   for congressman in the Fourth District to succeed  his wife, Rep. Juliet Marie Ferrer, who is now on her third and final term. | GB
