The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) recorded a significant reduction in fire incidents in Bacolod City last year although there was an increase in the number of injured persons and fatalities compared to 2024.
Based on its report, the Bacolod City Fire Station logged 202 fire incidents in 2025 compared to 295 in 2024.
The injured individuals, however, rose from 14 in 2024 to 16 last year. Fatalities also increased from one to six in the same period.

Fire damage last year was recorded at P33.462 million compared to P57.316 million in 2024.
Of the 202 incidents, structural totaled 147, which were triggered by electrical ignition, open flame from candle, and others causes, followed by non-structural – 35, and vehicular fire – 20.
The BFP recorded 27 fire incidents in August; 24 in October; 22 in July; 20 in April; 19 in December; 17 in November; 14 each in February and May; 13 in March, 11 each in January and June; and 10 in September. | GB
