A woman was nabbed with more than P1 million in suspected shabu and a gun in a drug-bust operation in Bago City, Negros Occidental Nov. 26.
The police said that Sofia Marie Dela Cruz, alias “Beauty”, 30, a widow and a resident of Hacienda Zaragoza, Barangay Don Jorge Araneta in Bago, was nabbed with several heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of suspected shabu and three plastic bags containing “shabu”, all weighing about 150 grams and worth P1,020,000, a para-ordnance .45 caliber pistol, one magazine, a holster, seven live ammunition, a pouch, a cell phone, a digital weighing scale, disposable lighters, and other drug paraphernalia.
The operation was conducted by operatives of the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit and the Bago police.
“Beauty”, tagged by the police as a high value target in the campaign against illegal drugs in Bago, is now detained at the custodial facility of the city police station, and will be charged for violations of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and RA 10591, for illegal possession of firearm and ammunition. –MML
