Policemen confiscated six kilograms of suspected shabu, with a market value of P41.3 million, from a suspected drug peddler at Purok Malipayon in Barangay 35, Bacolod City Tuesday night, Aug. 13.

It was considered the biggest haul of illegal drugs by the police in Negros Occidental this year, taking place two weeks after PCol. Joeresty Coronica assumed the position as director of the Bacolod City Police Office.

Arrested during the joint buy-bust operation of the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit-6 and Police Station 1 was John Philip Dellomo, alias Tol, 28, who was previously jailed at the New Bilibid Prison for robbery.

Dellomo’s father Lauro, 52, and brother Ronel, 36, were also taken into custody by the police for trying to interfere in the operation.

Both were subdued by the police after they tried to the grab firearm of an operative.

In a statement, PBrig. Gen. Jack Wanky, police regional director of Western Visayas, lauded the operating units for a job well done and ordered them to exert effort in identifying the cohorts.

“If evidence warrants, subject them to follow-up police operation to hold them accountable for their illegal acts,” he added.

Last weekend, operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and the City Drug Enforcement Unit confiscated more than half a kilo of suspected shabu, with a market value of P3.7 million, from four drug suspects in Barangays Singcang-Airport and Tangub.

Also on Tuesday, separate buy-bust operations in the cities of San Carlos, Silay and Sagay, as well as in E.B. Magalona town in Negros Occidental led to the confiscation of 24 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P162,600, from five arrested drug peddlers, police records showed. | GB
