Five buy-bust operations in Bacolod City over the weekend led to the confiscation of 1.85 kilograms of suspected shabu valued at P12.525 million and the apprehension of nine drug suspects.
On June 28, policemen seized an estimated P10.4 million worth of suspected shabu from five individuals at Hermelinda Subdivision in Barangay Mansilingan.
The suspects were identified as Nadal Verde, 42; a high-value individual; Cheryl Bulandras, 36; Richard Javellana, 34; John Kyle Treyes, 23; and Angelo Martinez, 23, all residents of Bacolod City.
PLt. Col. Antonio Benitez, chief of the City Drug Enforcement Unit, said the confiscated shabu came from Luzon, and that Verde, who had been the subject of their monitoring operations, has been operating in the different areas of Negros Occidental.
In a report, the Bacolod City Police Office said the arrest of four other suspects by operatives of the Police Stations 2, 5, 6 and 10 yielded P2.124 million worth of suspected shabu.
Of the nine arrested suspects, three were categorized as high-value individuals while the six others, as street level individuals.
Meanwhile, an estimated P1.02 million worth of suspected shabu were also seized by the police during a buy-bust at Purok 5 in Barangay IV-Poblacion, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental.
The police also recovered a fragmentation grenade from one of the four arrested suspects.
The apprehension of two other suspects in Binalbagan and Sagay City yielded P119,000 worth of suspected shabu. | GB
