One association received a check for P150,000, while 46 individuals from Bacolod got livelihood grant of 15,000 each, from Vice President Sara Duterte in a ceremony at the OVP Panay and Negros Islands Satellite Office in the city Nov. 11.
Duterte personally handed over the check to the BACIMPA Association and some individual beneficiaries of the Mag negosyo Ta’ Day (MTD).
Each beneficiary has an existing business like ukay-ukay, carinderia, school supplies, piggery, and chicken joy vending, while BACIMPA is into mushroom production, the OVP Panay and Negros Islands Satellite Office said in a press release Nov. 14.
With the help of the MTD program of the OVP, the beneficiaries were given additional capital to further expand and develop their businesses, it added.
MTD is an OVP-initiated project that aims to raise the socio-economic status of beneficiaries by providing capital and business trainings to grow their micro and small businesses.
