Another 12-hr brownout on Nov. 21

The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines has scheduled a 12-hour brownout in the whole coverage areas of the Northern Negros Electric Cooperative on Nov. 21.

These include EB Magalona, Victorias City, Manapla, Cadiz City, Sagay City, Escalante City, Toboso, Calatrava, and San Carlos City, Zosimo Briones, NGCP district senior manager, said in his letter to Atty. Danny Pondevilla, general manager of NONECO.

NGCP will conduct its preventive maintenance on the 50 MVA (megavolt amperes) power transformer, and correction of defects along the Bacolod-Cadiz 138 kV line, he added.

“Kindly advise your technical team to coordinate with our principal engineer at the Cadiz Substation for shifting of power supply of some of NONECO substations to the Amlan substation. Normal operation will immediately resume after completion of these activities, Briones added.

Meanwhile, NONECO said Nov. 14 that it successfully energized the 5MVA Toboso Calatrava substation.

“NONECO continues its effort to improve electricity service to its member-consumer-owners, and stakeholders. It demonstrated commitment to provide reliable service by establishing an additional one unit of 5MVA Power Substation in Brgy. Tigbao, Calatrava that will serve the municipalities of Toboso and Calatrava,” Pondevilla said. — CGC
