Bacolod sanggunian okays reversion of P112 million in savings for MOOE

Some P112.63 million in savings from unfilled vacant positions in the Bacolod City government, from Jan. 1 to Sept. 30 this year, has been reverted for the Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses (MOOE) of the City Mayor’s Office and payment of loyalty awards, among others.

The Sangguniang Panlungsod has approved the urgent request of Mayor Alfredo Benitez for the passage of an appropriation ordinance reverting P112,638,000 in savings from unfilled vacant positions, per certification issued by City Budget Officer, Maria Imelda Williams.

The reverted amount would instead be used as MOOE under Benitez’s office, totaling P108.7 million; for Property, Plant and Equipment – City Engineer’s Office, P3.5 million; Special Purpose Appropriations of P258,000, including the gratuity pay of barangay health worker retirees; and Personal Services of P120,000, mostly payment of loyalty awards of employees under the Department of Social Services and Development, City Treasurer’s Office Administrative Division, Bacolod Traffic Authority Office, City Cooperative and Livelihood Development Office, DPS-Street Cleaning Division, and City Health Office, among others. | CGC
