The Bacolod City government has started releasing the 14th month bonus of employees today, Nov. 17.
City Administrator, Atty. Edward Joseph Cuansing, said more than 1,000 permanent and plantilla casual employees will receive the bonus that is a taxable benefit.
Last week, the city also released the performance based bonus (PBB) to qualified employees.
A local government can only give the PBB if it received any national recognition for good governance. Causing said Bacolod received the Seal of Good Local Governance recognition again this year from the Department of the Interior and Local Government.
The PBB amount varies, depending on the basic monthly rate of an employee, with the bonus equivalent to 57 to 60 percent of the salary.
He added that in December, the employees will receive another round of bonuses, like the Collective Negotiation Agreement (CNA) bonus and the service incentive as per a mandate from the Office of the President.
A meeting was held Tuesday with the officers of the Bacolod City Government Employees Union on the possible amount that the city can give for this year’s CNA bonus.
Last year, the qualified employees received P25,000 each and a similar amount might be given to them next month, Cuansing said.
He added that the performance incentive will be determined by the savings of the city for the year. — MML
