Bacolod City has put key logistical arrangements in place ahead of the Batang Pinoy 2026 national games, scheduled to begin on Dec. 12.

City administrator, Atty. Mark Steven Mayo, said they are conducting an inventory of accommodations, including hotels, inns, condominiums, Airbnb rentals, and billeting schools, to accommodate contingents from 207 participating local government units.

Mayo said the organizer projected initial attendance at 35,000 to 36,000 delegates nationwide, although the actual number of attendees may decrease, subject to final athlete credential reviews.

For its part, Bacolod City has finalized its delegation, assembling a 760-member contingent composed of student-athletes and coaching staff.

To assess facility readiness, Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) chairman Patrick Gregorio personally inspected the playing venues for the 30 sports events.

Mayor Greg Gasataya is scheduled to announce the chosen site for the opening ceremony after the All Saints and All Souls days observance. | TMD
