The Bacolod City government congratulated Sidrey Mel Aldeguer Flores, a graduate of the Colegio San Agustin-Bacolod, for placing first in the Medical Technologists Licensure Examination, with a 92.10 percent rating.
Mayor Alfredo Benitez commended the feat of Flores, son of Villamonte Punong Barangay Rommel Flores.

“Villamontehanon. Bacolodnon. We are proud of you!” the mayor said in a Facebook post.
The Sangguniang Panlungsod, meanwhile, passed a resolution authored by councilors Em Ang, Israel Salanga, and Lady Gles Pallen, president of the Liga ng mga Barangay, also commending Flores for such impressive achievement.
“You make every Bacolodnon proud,” Ang told the young Flores, noting that he was the first student to graduate summa cum laude from CSA-B with a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology degree, and graduated valedictorian during his high school from the University of St. La Salle Integrated School.
CSA-B also lauded Flores and all other Med Tech passers.
Flores led the 4,714 passers out of the 6,165 hopefuls in the licensure examination as announced by the Professional Regulation Commission March 14.
The registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card and Certificate of Registration will be done online on May 2 to 5, 8 to 12, and 15 to 19, the PRC said.
Those who failed to pass the board examination for medical technology but had obtained a general rating of at least 70 percent can register as medical laboratory technician, the PRC said, adding that the date and venue for the oath-taking ceremony will be announced later./CGC
