Bacolod Hospital construction seen to start Q1 of 2022

The Office of Bacolod City Lone District congressman Greg Gasataya and officials of the Department of Health held an online meeting to initially assess the schematic plan in the construction of the Bacolod City General Hospital.

The funds for the construction of the health facility was through the passage of Republic Act 11564 that Gasataya had authored, adding that the project is his health legacy and the realization of his campaign promise in 2019.

He said the meeting was attended by DOH 6 regional director, Dr. Adriano Suba-an, Engr. Rochelle Ang, and Engr. Japhit Nasis, who are the major stakeholders in the establishment of the hospital.

With the DOH and the Department of Public Works and Highways behind the fast-tracking of the design and schematic plan, Gasataya said he is hoping that the project can start by the first quarter of 2022, with an initial phase budget of P200 million.

He added that his office has been receiving pledges from senators and other national agencies for additional budget in the procurement of medical equipment and the full operation of the hospital./MML
