Assorted weapons, shabu seized in Negros Occidental

Policemen confiscated assorted guns, a hand grenade and suspected shabu from five arrested persons on Jan. 19 to 21 in Negros Occidental.

A town hall building guard was arrested yesterday for illegal possession of firearms and explosive at Barangay Talagacay in Hinobaan.

The arrest of the 61-year-old suspect, identified only by the police as “Samuel”, yielded a hand grenade and a caliber .38 revolver with six ammunition.

Initial police investigation showed that the suspect attempted to shoot the victim known as “Joeven” prior to his arrest.

The implementation of search warrant at Purok Kabulakan, Barangay Daga, Cadiz City on Jan. 19 led to the arrest of the suspect identified only as “Michael”, a tricycle driver, and the recovery of a caliber .45 pistol with two magazines containing ammunition.

A 53-year-old farm worker was also arrested by the police, who responded to a commotion in Barangay DSB, Pontevedra also on Jan. 19.

His apprehension, following a brief chase, resulted in the recovery of a caliber .38 revolver.

An alleged high-value individual was also arrested during a buy-bust operation on Saturday in Barangay Zone 10, Talisay City.

The suspect identified only as “Edcel”, ranked number one in the drug watch list of the Talisay City Police Station.

He yielded about 15 grams of suspected shabu valued at P102,000.

The saturation drive at Tayum Street in Barangay 4, Kabankalan City on Jan. 20 led to the arrest of a certain “Helmar”, a 25-year-old driver, and the recovery of a caliber .38 revolver, with four ammunition from his possession. | GB
