The assistant provincial administrator of the provincial government of Negros Occidental was dismissed from service while two employees of the Human Resource department will face complaints for alleged irregularities, as recommended by the Provincial Legal Office.

PLO Alberto Nelias said that assistant provincial administrator Mina Pellejo was ordered dismissed from service, as recommended by members of the investigation team, for “unexplained spending of funds” of the Negros Occidental Comprehensive Health Program.

Nelias added that they have finalized the investigation and their recommendation of immediate dismissal from service was already signed by Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson, and served Friday.

But Pellejo said her counsel has not received her own copy of the order, adding that, at this time, she can say that “the decision is not surprising since the administrative proceedings were obviously conducted to just give a semblance of due process.”

There was nothing irregular or unlawful in the way the Negros Occidental Comprehensive Health Program was implemented. “I am very confident to say that the evidence that was presented against me is very weak, and this can be supported by the records of the case. I still have remedies under the law and I now look forward for my case to be reviewed by an unbiased authority,” Pellejo added.

Meanwhile, a formal charge and preventive suspension for 60 days were also served on two employees of the Human Resource office for alleged falsification of public documents and dishonesty. The respondents allegedly made an unauthorized alteration in documents.

Nelias added that the investigating team is still confirming the evidences against Budget Officer Jose Percival Salado. | NND News Team
