Patrolling Army soldiers on Monday figured in two armed clashes with suspected remnants of the dismantled Central Negros 2 guerilla front in Brgy. Carol-an in Kabankalan City.

Initial military reports indicated that about 10 NPA rebels were encountered by soldiers of the 94th Infantry Battalion.

Lt. Col. Van Donald Almonte, 94IB commander, reported that no one was hurt among his soldiers, while traces of bloodstains were discovered at the encounter site indicating that some fleeing rebels may have been injured.

Pursuit operations were ongoing as of last night. | GB
