Another travel moratorium between Iloilo City and Negros Occidental, including Bacolod City, was requested from the Regional Inter-Agency Task Force.

Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas, in an executive order he issued, sought approval from the RIATF of the inbound and outbound travel moratorium from Iloilo City to Negros Island, from June 1 to 15.

This was after Treñas issued an EO extending the implementation of the Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine in Iloilo City, until June 15, unless extended or lifted earlier.

Trenas, however, said the movement of cargos in and out of Iloilo City to Negros Island will remain unhampered. The entry and exit points to and from Iloilo City, by way of land, sea and air travel shall remain restricted, he added.

Exempted from the travel moratorium being requested are returning overseas Filipino workers, locally stranded individuals, authorized persons outside residence, transport of goods and construction materials, and those traveling for humanitarian purposes, to access government services, and for medical needs and work.

The moratorium on the travel of persons between Iloilo City and Bacolod City, and Dumangas, Iloilo to Negros Island, ended May 31 and was supposed to resume June 1, as ordered by the RIATF.

However, it was cancelled by the Philippine Coast Guard after Signal No. 1 was raised in Iloilo and Negros due to Tropical Storm Dante. — GB
