All systems go for Kadalag-an Festival

Victorias City officially marked the start of the 27th Kadalag-an Festival with a grand civic-military parade and opening ceremony at the city public plaza on Wednesday, March 19.

“Two years ago, we thought we had the grandest celebration of the festival yet. The year after that, we pushed the notch even higher. But this year, we made sure Victoriasanons will witness the biggest Kadalag-an ever,” Mayor Javier Miguel Benitez declared in his opening message, setting the tone for a celebration of victory, culture, and community pride.

A significant part of the ceremony was the launch of Victorias City’s official tourism branding, “Choose Your Own Adventure in Victorias.”

This new tagline aims to position the city as a diverse tourism hub, offering rich cultural heritage, eco-tourism experiences, and leisure activities for visitors.

Adding to the festive atmosphere, the Sidlak Kadalag-an Festival Dancers and Don Bosco Dance Maneuvers captivated the crowd with their performances.

The event also featured the formal presentation of the 12 official candidates for Sidlak Kadalag-an Queen 2025.

Former Third District congressman and now Bacolod City Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez, along with Vice Mayor Abelardo Bantug III, city councilors, barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan officials, city department heads, and various stakeholders graced the ceremony.

The Kadalag-an Festival runs from March 19 to March 23, promising a diverse lineup of activities and events. ||
