The Center for Emerging and Re-Emerging Diseases, worth P100 million, will soon rise at the compound of the Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital in Silay City, Negros Occidental.
Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson, assisted by Rep. Jose Francisco Benitez, Silay City Mayor Mark Golez, and Board Members Andrew Montelibano and Manuel Frederick Ko, led the ground breaking rites yesterday for the construction of the CEMREID.
“With this center, our healthcare system will be able to serve both clean and infectious cases simultaneously, but separate, as our CEMREID wing will have its own Emergency, Operating and Delivery Rooms, as well as an Intensive Care Unit, aside from isolation rooms,” Lacson said. — GB
