He added that the city government can set aside P100,000 or more as reward money as long as it can establish a lead into the investigation and expedite the solving of the case.

Cui just came out of his office at Emerald Arcade in Barangay Palampas, San Carlos City, when he was shot by unknown suspect/s from a distance. The gunman was believed to have been waiting across the crime scene, and two vehicles were said to have fled towards unknown direction after the shooting.

Cui succumbed to a gunshot wound in the neck.

The National Bureau of Investigation probers are in San Carlos City, but Renoir Baldovino of NBI Bacolod said his team is still clueless on Cui’s assailants.

The NBI investigators, headed by Atty. Jose Gabriel, will interview a barangay official whom the victim talked to before the incident, he added.

Baldovino said the conduction sticker of the vehicle seen on the CCTV footage did not match that of the van earlier reported to be one of the vehicles used by the suspects. – MML
