Three suspects were arrested in separate anti-drug operations in two areas in Negros Occidental on Sunday, police reports said.
Virgilio Buenaflor, 51, was apprehended during a buy-bust at around 3 p.m. in Purok Malipayon Zone 4-A in Talisay City.
A street level target, Buenaflor yielded nine small sachets containing suspected shabu weighing 2.5 grams valued at P11,500.
Maj. Jigger Gimeno, chief of Talisay City Police Station, said the suspect was monitored for more than a week before his arrest after an informant told the police he is involved in retailing illegal drugs in his neighborhood.
In Ilog town, suspects Carlo Lobrique and Romel Olimpos, both residents of Relocation Site in Barangay 9, Kabankalan City, were also arrested in buy-bust on Sunday afternoon.
Operatives recovered from Lobrique four small sachets containing shabu along with the buy-bust money, coin purse and a cellular phone while they seized from
Olimpos four medium elongated and one big sachet of shabu, buy-bust money, and coin purse.
All three suspects are facing charges for violation of Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. – MML
