Landbank posted a net income of P37.53 billion for the first nine months of this year, up eight percent year-on-year (y-o-y), driven by robust third-quarter results and expanding core banking operations.
Net income for the third quarter alone reached P13.32 billion, per the Nov. 4 press release from the bank, adding it posted record levels in its balance sheet, with total assets reaching P3.56 trillion and deposits hitting P3.11 trillion, as of end-September.
“Our strong financial performance reflects the continued trust of our clients. This growth affirms the strength of our client-focused solutions and our ability to deliver on our developmental mandate while maintaining sound and disciplined operations,” Landbank president and CEO Lynette Ortiz said.
The bank continued to channel substantial resources toward its development mandate.
Loans to agriculture, fisheries, and rural development (AFRD) reached P894.41 billion, up 10 percent from P812.79 billion a year earlier, and accounting for nearly 55 percent of the bank’s gross loan portfolio.
It also expanded financial inclusion through its Cash-Lite Program, bringing secure and interoperable digital payments to 29 communities nationwide, as of end-September. It likewise enhanced digital onboarding through real-time identity verification, enabling customers registered in the National ID System to open accounts online without presenting physical IDs.
Digital transactions rose 29 percent y-o-y, to 713.16 million, while transaction value increased 22 percent to P3.83 trillion. Its mobile banking app remained a key growth driver, with unique active users increasing 71 percent to 3.69 million.
Landbank also supported the national government’s enhanced fuel subsidy program, facilitating the distribution of P1.2 billion in assistance to more than 109,900 public utility vehicle drivers nationwide, as of Nov. 2.
Its financial and development performance also earned local and international recognitions. The Association of Development Financing Institutions in Asia and the Pacific recognized two Landbank initiatives at its Outstanding Development Project Awards in Colombo, Sri Lanka, while the Philippine Energy Awards accorded the Bank the Sustainable Energy Finance Award for supporting renewable and clean energy projects.
The International Banker also named Landbank as Best Commercial Bank and Best Sustainable Bank in the Philippines for 2026, recognizing its achievements in financial inclusion, digital innovation, sustainable finance, and customer-focused banking. ||
