SM City Bacolod welcomed the Christmas season on Oct. 25 with Navidad De La Sagrada Luz, a Spanish-inspired celebration of light, color, and wonder at the mall’s Main Atrium.
Marking Bacolod’s first Christmas launch of 2026, the event unveiled a 40-foot Christmas tree adorned with radiant stars, colorful ornaments, and sparkling lights, providing a festive backdrop for an evening of music, dance, and celebration.
Kids of Praise, the Garcia Sanchez School of Dance, and the De La Salle Chorale Male Ensemble delighted the audience with performances that brought together youthful voices, graceful choreography, and rich vocal harmonies beneath the towering Christmas centerpiece.

Adding energy and warmth to the celebration was award-winning filmmaker and event host Kurt Soberano, who guided the evening’s program as the performances unfolded against the dazzling Christmas backdrop.
A defining moment of the evening was the ceremonial bell ringing, led by Bacolod City Vice Mayor Kalaw Puentevella and SM City Bacolod mall officers, headed by Mall Manager Mary Jane Losaria.
Together, the officials rang the bell to signal the grand lighting of the Christmas tree. Sparkling fountain effects illuminated the stage, Christmas lights danced across the atrium, and golden confetti filled the air as the centerpiece came to life.
The celebration drew families and mallgoers to the Main Atrium and upper levels, where they enjoyed the performances and witnessed the festive lighting ceremony.
Beyond the launch, Navidad De La Sagrada Luz transforms SM City Bacolod into a colorful Christmas destination, inviting families and friends to gather, capture photographs, and share memorable moments throughout the holiday season. ||
