Policemen arrested a high-value drug personality and seized about 1.15 kilograms of suspected shabu worth P7.82 million in a buy-bust in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental on Oct. 2.
The suspect, identified only as alias “John,” 35, of Barangay Batinguel in the city, was collared at past 11 a.m. while dealing with a poseur-buyer in Barangay Balugo.
The operation was conducted by personnel of the City Drug Enforcement Unit of the Dumaguete City Police Station and Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.
Police said the anti-drug operation stemmed from intelligence information that the suspect was allegedly distributing illegal drugs in several barangays and sourcing his supply from Cebu.
Another buy-bust on Oct. 1 in Barangay 6, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental led to the arrest of alias “Carl,” and the recovery of 6.25 grams of suspected shabu valued at P42,500. | GPB
