Police arrested a 58-year-old man Sept. 13, after he allegedly discharged a firearm while drunk inside his house in Barangay Haguimit, La Carlota City, Negros Occidental.
The La Carlota Component City Police Station said the man was under the influence of alcohol when he took out a firearm and fired a shot inside their house.
His live-in partner dialed the 911 emergency hotline at around 10:15 p.m., the police said.
Upon taking the suspect into custody, police seized an Armscor .45 caliber pistol along with two magazines containing 11 rounds of live ammunition. Also recovered were a gray sling bag, two identification cards belonging to the suspect, and a knife.
The man is facing charges for illegal discharge of firearms and for violation of Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, the police added. | TMD
