Two motorcycle drivers died in road mishaps in Silay and Kabankalan, Negros Occidental in the past two days, the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office said.
“May”, 23, was driving towards the city proper in Silay Aug. 19, when her Honda Click motorcycle struck the left side of a Toyota Hilux, driven by “Belle”, 75, who was making a left turn along Rizal Street in Barangay V, the police said.
Emergency responders from the local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office rushed “May” to the Teresita L. Jalandoni Provincial Hospital but she was declared dead on arrival.
“Belle” and her car were brought to the Silay City Police Station for disposition.
In Kabankalan, a 44-year-old laborer was riding a Red Rusi 110 motorcycle from the city proper toward Barangay Mambugsay, Cauayan, at around 2 a.m. Aug. 20 when he crashed into an under-repair section of the road, resulting in severe head injuries.
DRRMO personnel brought the victim to Lorenzo D. Zayco District Hospital but he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Meanwhile, a 39-year-old driver was injured in a stabbing incident following an altercation with a drinking buddy at an auto repair shop in Barangay Tangub, Bacolod City, Aug. 20.
The victim sustained multiple stab wounds and was transported to South Bacolod General Hospital, where he is reported to be in stable condition.
Responding policemen apprehended the suspect and recovered the weapon for documentation and evidence processing.
The police initially classified the incident as frustrated homicide while investigation is ongoing. | TMD
