A 30-year-old laborer was found dead along a roadside in Hacienda San Jose, Barangay Sag-ang, La Castellana, Negros Occidental, July 31.
The victim, said to be temporarily staying in Sitio Dulaca in the barangay, sustained fatal gunshot wounds to his forehead, nose, and the right side of his face.
Responding authorities recovered four fired cartridges and three bullet slugs at the crime scene.
Police reported that the victim’s grandfather had noticed him missing from their house at around 10 the previous evening, prompting family members to search the area until they discovered his body.
The victim was rushed to a rural health unit, but was declared dead on arrival.
A resident reported hearing four successive gunshots at around 11 p.m. July 30, the police said.
The La Castellana Municipal Police Station is conducting an investigation to identify the assailant/s and determine the motive behind the attack. | TMD
