A residential fire left approximately P4.5 million in estimated structural damage after sweeping through a two-story home in Purok Mahimaya-on, Barangay Bata, Bacolod City, July 25.

Initial investigation of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Bacolod reported that an overheated desk fan left plugged was the likely cause of the evening fire.

The partially-damaged structure belonged to Antonio Valderrama, the BFP said.

Meanwhile, responders from the Amity Volunteer Fire Brigade rescued three dogs trapped inside the burning home.

After braving thick smoke to pull the animals to safety, emergency teams immediately administered oxygen to help the dogs recover. | TMD
