Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) operatives confiscated 840 grams of suspected shabu, valued at P5.7 million, and arrested four drug suspects in a series of anti-drug operations across the city over Friday through Saturday.
Among the suspects were a married couple, alias “Gard”, 44, and alias “Ana”, 35, tagged as high-value individuals and listed in the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council.
They were arrested by Police Station 1 operatives in a buy-bust operation in Purok Mabinuligon, Barangay 35, at 2:43 a.m. July 25.
Approximately 800 grams of suspected shabu, valued at P5,440,000, along with the buy-bust money, a motorcycle with a sidecar, and drug paraphernalia were seized from the couple.
Police launched casing and surveillance operations after receiving tips from a confidential informant regarding the couple’s active distribution of illegal drugs across barangays 35 and Singcang-Airport.
Meanwhile, City Drug Enforcement Unit operatives arrested alias “Bebe”, 64, during a buy-bust in Purok Kagaykay, Barangay 2, at 7:04 p.m. July 24, and recovered 35 grams of suspected shabu worth P238,000.
At around 7:48 p.m. that same night, Police Station 7 operatives arrested alias “Kim”, 35, in Kabugwason, Barangay Mansilingan, and seized five grams of suspected shabu, valued at P34,000.
“These successful operations demonstrate our unwavering resolve to intensify the campaign against illegal drugs,” BCPO director, P/Col. Eugene Rebadomia, said.
All four suspects remain in police custody and will face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. | TMD
