The Bacolod City government served a second notice of violation to AMA Computer College Bacolod Campus July 1, for operating without a business permit.

It now has 15 working days to comply with all requirements, or the Business Permits and Licensing Office will formally recommend for its closure to the City Legal Office.

The school failed to act within the three-day compliance period in the first notice served June 25, the city said.

“From the time the first notice was served, no one from AMA went to the office to transact and process (the requirements),” Secretary to the Mayor, Atty. Jose Marty Go, said.

He added that the school has 15 days to complete its remaining clearances, noting that it only lacks approvals from the Bacolod Environment and Natural Resources Office and the City Health Office.

Go said the school has been advised to voluntarily suspend its operations.

The city said the Department of Education (DepEd) Bacolod Schools Division has a contingency plan to assist students, who may be affected by a potential closure.

Mayor Greg Gasataya previously announced that DepEd will also issue a notice of violation to the school for barring at least 150 students from attending their graduation ceremony due to non-payment of fees. | TMD
