The Negros Pride, in partnership with Artscenic, is set to stage a weeklong pride event on June 22 to 28, across two venues in Bacolod City.
Billed as the biggest pride pop-up in the Visayas, the cultural celebration serves as a lead-up to the annual Negros Pride Parade scheduled June 27.
Negros Pride convenor Kyle Villariza said the festivities’ theme “FantaSiya,” champions queer imagination as a tool for world-building, collective expression, and resistance against ongoing systemic barriers and discrimination.
“This year’s Pride theme is rooted in the idea that queer imagination is not an escape from reality, but a way of reshaping it,” Villariza said.
The program will launch its first leg at Ayala Malls Capitol Central before moving to the Cinematheque Centre Negros, which will host curated queer film screenings and community talkbacks. | TMD
