5 TUP Visayas graduates dominate electronics engrs, technicians exams

Five alumni of the Technological University of the Philippines Visayas, based in Talisay City, Negros Occidental, dominated the Electronics Engineers and Electronics Technicians licensure examinations, with Lexther Romel Paloma Kimpo landing in 4th and 2nd place, respectively, in both exams.

Kimpo scored 93.40 percent in the Electronics Engineers licensure examination (EELE) and placed fourth among the 1,692 passers, out of 2,746 examinees, per the result released by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) last night, March 24.

Marc John Evangelista Jopson, meanwhile, landed in the 10th spot of the EELE, with a rating of 91.90 percent.

In the Electronics Technicians licensure examination (ETLE), Herald Anthony Diamonon Cagas is in Top 1, with a rating of 94 percent; Kimpo in Top 2, 93 percent; Laurence John Jayme Alfajora in third spot, 92 percent; and Lester Tongco Braza and Kenneth Baterna Sinoy, both in fourth place, with a rating of 90 percent, the PRC said, adding that 1,907 out of 2,440 passed the ETLE.

TUPV is the top performing school in the EELE, with 55 passers out of 60 examinees, or 91.67 percent passing rate; and 68 passers out of 72 examinees, or 94.44 percent passing rate, in the ETLE.

The results were released in two working days after the last day of examinations, the PRC said, adding that the registration for the issuance of the professional identification card and Certificate of Registration will be done online, starting on April 24. | CGC
