Philippine Statistics Authority-Negros Oriental provincial head, Engr. Ariel Fortuito, told members of the Provincial Statistics Council (PSC) during their full council meeting March 4 that cumulative output for the national ID registration has reached 1,351,285, as of Feb. 28.
This was 90.57 percent of the total population of Negros Oriental which is 1,492,008, based on the 2024 census of population.
Fortuito said individuals who has yet to receive the physical copies of their national ID may download its digital version via the egov app, which can be installed on their smartphones, or secure a printed paper version from the PSA.

He emphasized that both digital and paper versions hold the same validity as the physical ID card.
Meanwhile, Fortuito also said that 2,631 4Ps beneficiaries, 1,181 social pensioners, and 33 Walang Gutom beneficiaries in Negros Oriental have been covered by the national ID registration, or PhilSys, through PSA’s partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development.
The PSA also continues to reach out to every barangay and town in Negros Oriental with the help of the provincial government, through its medical, legal, and social services so that more people can obtain their PhilSys ID, he added. | PIA
