Several contraband items were seized by personnel of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) inside the detention cells of the Negros Occidental District Jail (NODJ) in Bago City, Negros Occidental on Tuesday, March 3.
The greyhound operation at the Male Dormitory yielded five improvised bladed weapons, seven smartphones, three keypad phones, power chargers, and cash.
It was followed by the drug testing of 155 inmates, which all yielded negative results, the NODJ said in a statement.
The activity ended with no untoward incidents.
The greyhound operations form part of the BJMP’s continuing campaign to ensure safety, discipline, and order in detention facilities by preventing the entry of contraband that may lead to violence. | GB
