SM Development Corporation (SMDC) highlighted its structural regional presence in Bacolod and Western Visayas, with the scheduled turnover of nearly 4,000 units this year, including the 1,192 Smile Residences units in the city.
The company’s Parkville master-planned development, spanning 52 hectares along Burgos Avenue, and with 2,394 residential lots, is also set for completion in 2028, Architect Pam de Guzman, SMDC assistant vice president for Project Development and Management, said in a press briefing Feb. 24 at Park Inn by Radisson Bacolod.

Parkville is positioned in one of Bacolod’s most accessible areas, with close proximity to the newly opened Burgos–Negros Occidental Economic Highway, providing seamless access to both the northern and southern parts of the city, the SMDC said. “It is envisioned to unfold gradually—allowing infrastructure, open spaces, and residential zones to grow in step rather than in haste.”
Also for turnover are units in Glade Residences and Style Residences, both in Iloilo, De Guzman said, adding that future expansions include 74 hectares of land in Granada, 71 hectares in Silay, Negros Occidental, and eight hectares in Iloilo. “Land acquisition of this scale signals long-term regional commitment.”
These developments are proof of SMDC’s commitment to long-term presence in the Visayas, she stressed. “Our commitment is built on three things, infrastructure first, execution at scale, and long-term regional presence. We are not approaching this project by project. We are building community, from land to infrastructure to delivery to service.” | CGC
