A Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) kagawad and two other suspected drug personalities were arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted by Police Station 2 operatives on Monday, Jan. 19, at Purok Sigay, Barangay 2 in Bacolod City.
Authorities seized about 105 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P714,000.
Police identified the arrested SK official as Antoniano Anonas, 23, of Barangay 12. The two others were known only by their aliases, Jess and JM.
The operation was launched following reports that alias Jess had been distributing illegal drugs in Barangays 2, 10, and 12.
With the assistance of a police informant, a transaction was arranged at a designated location. During the operation, a police poseur buyer encountered the SK kagawad and another suspect who were also purchasing suspected shabu.
This led to the arrest of the three suspects and the recovery of the illegal drugs along with P1,000 in marked money, police said.
Meanwhile, two other drug suspects were also arrested in separate operations on Sunday, Jan. 18, in San Enrique and Silay City, Negros Occidental.
These operations yielded about eight grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P54,400. ||
