Negros Electric and Power Corp. (Negros Power) has strongly condemned offering cash, favors, or financial assistance in exchange for power restoration, prioritization, or any related service.

In a statement on Sunday (Nov. 9), Negros Power said it will not tolerate such acts, stressing that its restoration activities strictly follow established protocols, based on technical assessment and operational safety.

“No payment, personal request, or connection will influence or expedite these procedures,” it added.

Negros Power enjoined the public not to entertain any individual claiming they can restore power faster in exchange for money. Such actions are strictly prohibited and are not aligned with the company’s values, service standards, or legal obligations, it further said.

Negros Power said it expects power restoration in all households under its service franchise area, including the cities of Bacolod, Silay, Talisay, Bago as well as the municipalities of Murcia and Salvador Benedicto by early this week.

As of 5 a.m. Nov. 9, it has energized 76 percent of the total households.

The distribution utility encouraged its clients to report anyone soliciting money or offering priority restoration for payment to its official customer service channels or local authorities.

To strengthen accountability, any consumer who can provide verified and valid evidence of such solicitation will receive double reimbursement of the amount involved, Negros Power said.

All reported incidents will undergo immediate investigation and appropriate action under company policy and applicable laws, it added. ||
