The 46th MassKara Festival officially opened Oct. 1 with simultaneous festivities at the Bacolod Government Center and the public plaza.

Joining in the celebration, SM City Bacolod marked the occasion with its own vibrant launch, setting the tone for a festive month filled with colors, music, and the joyful spirit of MassKara.

At the main atrium of SM City Bacolod, mallgoers were treated to a dazzling performance by the MassKara dancers of Barangay Granada, who showcased decades of iconic steps and music that have shaped Bacolod’s world-renowned festival. Neon hues and bright costumes filled the space, inviting shoppers and festival-goers to strike a pose, dance along, and immerse in the joyful MassKara spirit.

VIBE IN FULL COLOR! SM City Bacolod joined Bacolod City’s official MassKara Festival opening Oct. 1 with its own vibrant launch featuring the MassKara dancers, neon-bright performances, and the reveal of SM’s festival video showcasing Bacolod’s beauty queens and teen ambassadors.

One of the highlights of the event was the premiere of SM’s official MassKara Festival video. The fun and upbeat feature brought together pageant personalities, including the candidates of Mr. and Miss Teen MassKara, Miss Bacolod MassKara titleholder Jasmine Mahilum (also Miss SM City Bacolod), and Miss World Semi-Finalist Marianel Tan. Together, they captured the message that SM is more than a mall—it is a vibe, and Bacolod’s ultimate destination for food, fashion, fun, and the best festival experience.

Mallgoers also had the chance to join a live watch party of the city’s simultaneous launch, streamed from the Government Center and the plaza, making SM City Bacolod a hub where festival tradition meets modern celebration.

“‘Unmasking the Vibes’ is our theme this year,” Kathlyn Tiu, SM City Bacolod marketing manager, said in a press release Oct. 2. “We want everyone to dive into the SMILE vibes—Savor, Move, Indulge, Laugh, and Explore—while unmasking their happiest selves this MassKara season.”
