P633,000 in agri damage logged in Moises Padilla

Heavy rains and flooding last Friday left more than P633,000 in agricultural and livestock losses in Moises Padilla, Negros Occidental, according to a report of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO).

At least 20 hectares of rice fields and high-value crops were destroyed, affecting 29 farmers.

Damaged crops were reported in nine barangays, including Quintin Remo, Odiong, Montilla, Magallon Cadre, Guinpana-an, Crossing Magallon, Macagahay, Barangay 4, and Barangay 6.

A total of 109 families were evacuated while 11 were destroyed and 46 others were partially damaged.

The PDRRMO also reported P21,261 in damage to livestock in the  cities of Bago and La Carlota, and Valladolid town.

Eight houses were partially damaged in Silay City and E.B. Magalona while another one was reported destroyed in Bago City. | GB
