Six police units in Negros Island Region (NIR) are candidates for the awards as best Philippine National Police (PNP) units in the country in line with the 124th Police Service Anniversary on August 8.
The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) is again vying for the national award as Best Police Provincial Office while the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) is also competing for the award as Best City Police Office in the country.
Two years ago, NOCPPO was adjudged as the Best PPO while BCPO as Best CPO in the Philippines.
Both units are respectively headed by Col. Rainerio de Chavez and Col. Joeresty Coronica, who belonged to the same class at the Philippine National Police Academy.
The BCPO Mobile Force Company is also vying for the national award as Best City Mobile Force Company; 2nd Negros Occidental Provincial Mobile Force Company as Best Provincial Mobile Force Company; Bayawan City Police Station in Negros Oriental, as Best City Police Station; and La Castellana Police Station in Negros Occidental, as Best Municipal Police Station.
These NIR police units have demonstrated exemplary service and exceptional professionalism in the performance of their duties, a statement from the Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region said. | GB
