Bacolod gets lot donation for PNP, BFP substations

The Sangguniang Panlungsod authorized Mayor Alfredo Benitez June 5 to sign the deed of donation for around 2,130 square meters of land in the more than 95,000 sqm. property owned by Rockwell Land Corporation along Buri Road in Barangay Mandalagan, Bacolod City.

The donated parcel of land will house police and fire substations, as well as other essential emergency facilities, with a groundbreaking ceremony set on June 9.

Phase 1 of the proposed facilities must be constructed and become fully operational within 240 calendar days from the execution of the deed of donation with partition, as per the proposed agreement.

In case the donated lot ceases to be used by the City Government of Bacolod or withdrawn from its intended use/purpose, the lot shall “automatically revert to the donor in possession and ownership,” it added.

The city earlier said the proposed facilities have a P10 million funding support from Senator Francis Tolentino, who allocated the budget last year. | CGC
