Education stakeholders of the Schools Division of Bago City gathered for the “Convergence of Education Partners” in Bacolod City recently, with outgoing Mayor Nicholas Yulo as keynote speaker.

Yulo, who is completing his three-term tenure and will transition to serve as member of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Negros Occidental, reaffirmed his continued commitment to education.

“Education is not just a sector. It is the foundation of our future. My mission continues — as your partner, your advocate, and your ally in shaping the next generation,” Yulo said in a press release from the city May 31.

Schools Division superintendent Neri Anne Alibuyog expressed her gratitude for the mayor’s consistent support throughout his tenure.

“The good mayor has never wavered in his commitment to education. His leadership, marked by empathy and action, continues to inspire us all. We are more than honored to call him an education partner,” Alibuyog said.

During Yulo’s administration, various education initiatives were implemented, including infrastructure improvements, physical facility upgrades in schools, and comprehensive teacher support services, which demonstrated the city government’s investment in educational advancement.

The convergence served as a platform for collaboration among education partners and highlighted the ongoing commitment to strengthening the educational landscape of Bago, the city said. ||
