Almost P4 million worth of suspected shabu have been confiscated by the police in two buy-bust operations in Bacolod City over the weekend.
On Feb. 23, the arrest of a drug suspect identified by the police as alias “Rod” in Barangay Banago yielded about 450 grams of suspected shabu valued at P3.06 million.
A day earlier, two other suspects identified as aliases “Bee” and “Erica” were also arrested at Purok Mainuswagon in Barangay Cabug.
The police recovered about 125 grams of suspected shabu worth P850,000.
The two operations were conducted by the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) City Drug Enforcement Unit led by PLt. Col. Antonio Benitez.
On Feb. 22, the implementation of a search warrant in Barangay Tampalon, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental led to the arrest of
“Ed”, 50, and the recovery of two firearms, a caliber .45 and 9mm pistols, and two magazines containing 14 ammunition.
In a statement, PBrig. Gen. Jack Wanky, police regional director of Western Visayas, lauded the accomplishments of both BCPO and the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office in the campaign against illegal drugs and unlicensed firearms.
“Those identified still engaging in illicit activities will be pursued and those dentified possessing loose firearms will be the next subject of our law enforcement operations,” Wanky said. | GB
