The Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) of Negros Occidental has concurred with the appointments of two new provincial government department heads.
The appointments of Felomina Guzon as head of the Provincial Human Resource Management Department and Ma. Elisa Doronila Yanson as the Provincial Accountant got the concurrence of the SP during its session on Aug. 25.
Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz II said on Friday, Aug. 28 that their appointments had been signed by Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson before he went on vacation leave.
Guzon fills the position previously occupied by lawyer Annabelle Pali while Yanson succeeds Annabelle Magalona, who recently retired as Provincial Accountant.
Diaz said the two new department heads have rendered more than three decades of service to the Negros Occidental provincial government and its workforce of more than 5,000 employees.
He also announced the approval of the appointment of Avelyn Agudon Marañon as assistant department head of the Negros Occidental Language and Information Technology Center (NOLITC).
Marañon is expected to assume leadership of the center once her appointment takes effect, ending the officer-in-charge capacity of Cely Carman, who will continue serving in her division.
Meanwhile, the position of provincial health officer II, which was vacated by Dr. Girlie Pinongan, remains unfilled and has yet to be opened for appointment.
Two other appointments at the Provincial Health Office, however, have already been approved and have taken effect.
Dr. Maria Ayessa Hugnatan and Dr. Von Aposaga were appointed as provincial health officers I under the Public Health Program and are now helping oversee the province’s public health initiatives, Diaz said. | GPB
