The Philippine Statistics Authority in Negros Occidental is celebrating the 35th Civil Registration Month, with an opening ceremony Feb. 7 at GT 888 Mall Bacolod, on the theme, “Building Resilient, Agile, and Future-fit Civil Registration and Vital Statistics System”.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony was led by supervising statistical specialist Diesah Biaoco, registration officer II Edwin Guiking, and registration officer I Annie Libo-on, together with Provincial Association of Civil Registrars in Negros Occidental Inc. president Rose Dalaguit.
Biaoco stressed the significance of the Civil Registration Month to every Filipino. “Civil registration is the foundation upon which the rights of every individual are recognized.”

Back-to-back lectures on the importance of civil registration were also held. These lectures formed part of the information dissemination of PSA Negros Occidental with regards to its civil registration services to further enlighten the public.
Interim director John Campomanes of the Regional Statistical Services Office Negros Island Region said in a press release that he is grateful for the unwavering support of local government units, especially the steadfast presence of local civil registrars of Bacolod City and Negros Occidental, to the undertakings of the PSA. ||
