Some 125 graduates of the different courses of the Dumaguete City Livelihood and Home Industries Development Office (CLHIDO) received their starter kits in simple rites recently so that they can use their skills in earning a decent livelihood.
CLHIDO head Maria Melchie Dorado said that among the recipients are graduates of automotive servicing, dressmaking, consumer electronics servicing, computer operation, shielded metal arc welding, beauty care/hairdressing, tailoring, pipefitting, plumbing, refrigeration and air conditioning, and hilot wellness massage.

Mayor Felipe Antonio Remollo has emphasized the need to offer skills training particularly for out-of-school youth, unemployed adults, underemployed, women, persons with disability, and displaced persons so that they can acquire the needed skill set for employment and livelihood.
All the 11 courses are accredited by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority and the graduates are also certified by Remollo, the city said Jan. 21.
Included in the starter kits are basic tools and supplies provided by the city government through the GAD budget. ||
