Operatives of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) confiscated P4.59 million worth of suspected shabu during a buy-bust in Purok Nami-Nami, Barangay Sum-ag on Thursday (Dec. 12).

The arrest of alias “Sal”, 24, a resident of Barangay 31 in the city, yielded about 675 grams of suspected shabu valued at P6,800 per gram.

Two days earlier, the police also recovered 800 grams of suspected shabu worth P5.4 million from three arrested dug suspects in Victorias City, Negros Occidental.

Brig. Gen. Jack Wanky, police regional director of Western Visayas, lauded the concerned police units involved in the successful anti-drug operations.

“Let’s maintain the intensity of our campaign against these illegal drug peddlers and conduct in-depth investigation to determine if the suspects have cohorts in their illegal drug activities,” Wanky added.

Two other drug suspects, who are both laborers, were arrested by the police in separate buy-busts in Toboso and La Carlota City, which also yielded nine sachets of suspected shabu and P500 in marked money. | GB
