3 NegOcc LGUs bag ADAC performance national award

The Department of Interior and Local Government has adjudged three local government units in Negros Occidental as among the 12 outstanding Ant-Drug Abuse Councils (ADACs) in the country for 2024.

Among the outstanding ADACS nationwide were the cities of Victorias and Silay, and the town of Moises Padilla in Negros Occidental, according to the DILG.

Mayor Javier Miguel Benitez lauded the Victorias City ADAC for its outstanding efforts in meeting functionality standards and successfully implementing anti-illegal drug programs and interventions.

“Thank you for being the beacon of light in the battle against illegal drugs and may you continue to be an inspiration in building and sustaining a safer and drug-free Philippines,” the DILG, in a statement, said.

The 2024 ADAC Functionality Audit Results indicated that the province of Negros Occidental, cities of Bago, Cadiz, Escalante, La Carlota, Sipalay, Sagay, Himamaylan, San Carlos, as well as municipalities of E.B. Magalona, Manapla, Pontevedra, La Castellana, Binalbagan, Toboso, Ilog, San Enrique, Cauayan, Hinigaran, HInobaan, Don Salvador Benedicto, Valladolid and Isabela, as among the High Functional ADACs in the country.

On the other hand, Kabankalan City, Candoni, Murcia and Calatrava were tagged as Moderate Functional ADACs.

The DILG Negros Occidental congratulated the ADACs for their dedication, hard work, and commitment to raising the bar in community wellness and safety.

These outstanding results reflect our united effort to foster a healthier, drug-free future for all Negrenses, it added. | GB
