Police seize P800,000 in shabu

Policemen seized about P800,000 in suspected shabu and arrested eight suspects in various buy-bust operations during the weekend in Negros Occidental, including Bacolod City.

On Saturday, the apprehension of alias “Lourdes” in Sitio Sibucao, Barangay Banago, Bacolod City led to the confiscation of about 90 grams of suspected shabu valued at P612,000.

The operation was conducted by the Bacolod City Police Office-City Drug Enforcement Unit.

The arrest of a certain “Ramzie” on Oct. 13 at Zone 5 in Barangay Mambulac, Silay City yielded 14 grams of suspected shabu worth P95,200.

Six other drug suspects were separately arrested by the police on Oct. 12 in the cities of San Carlos, Cadiz and La Carlota as well as the municipalities of Murcia and Valladolid.

These operations yielded about 13 grams of suspected shabu, with a market value of P178,196.

The eight arrested drug suspects are facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002. | GB
