The music and dance workshop for the Cadiznon Lunsod Lunsad Year 2: Elevating Creative Excellence celebration was a powerful blend of rhythm and movement, and brought Cadiz’s creative talents to the forefront.

The dance workshop showcased the rich cultural heritage of Cadiz, with participants learning and performing three local folk dances—Panulo sa Baybayon, Pamulad Isda, and Regatones.

Spearheaded by Dr. Randyll Villones and assisted by Norlien Dorliac and the PNU-Visayas Makawiwili Dance Troupe, the event featured students, local choreographers, and school advisers delving into the soul of Cadiznon tradition through movement.

On the musical side, the workshop — led by experts Dr. Rogie Balcosa, Rany Barieses, and Francisco Vasquez — focused on the art of songwriting, composition, and music arrangement, the city said.

Under the guidance of moderator Shandel Gomez, the participants, including the Cadiz Cultural Performing Group and music enthusiasts, explored the depths of creativity and musical expression, crafting original compositions with heart and purpose.

The event, attended by councilors Lalen Lamis, Frances Guanzon, Fria Cristine Cervantes-Napiza, and Maricel Desuyo, was a resounding success, a testament to the city’s commitment to fostering creativity in both dance and music, paving the way for future cultural excellence in Cadiz. | Bilis Cadiz photos
